Colony

All of Colony's art was commissioned from a single artist with a simple brief; create elegant, contemporary, sculptural images combining the flavours, mystery and majesty of Colonial England and the British Raj.

That artist was Petr Weigl.

Petr is an award-winning artist specialising in remarkable art pieces created in reconstituted stone, bronze, ceramics and glass. Son of a Czech émigré, he trained as a graphic designer before dedicating himself to ceramics at Central St. Martin's in London.

After graduating, Petr embarked on an extensive tour across Asia and the Orient where a passion for Asian art was soon born. Applying this new passion to materials and techniques, both ancient and modern, led to the birth of Colony's unique collection.

Working from his studio in North London, Petr is exclusively represented by the Belgravia Gallery in Mayfair. Four of his pieces feature in the prestigious Coutt's Collection and examples of this artist's elegant work can be found the world over.
